The 2024 Democratic National Convention aimed to create a dynamic and culturally immersive kickoff event to welcome global media, state delegates, and key political figures to Chicago. The vision was to capture the city’s essence while seamlessly managing the scale, security, and prestige of such a high-profile gathering.
The result was an unforgettable two-night celebration at Navy Pier, where 30,000 guests were invited to experience the flavors of Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods through a curated lineup of beloved local vendors. Live performances honored the city’s deep-rooted music legacy, featuring iconic local and global artists. From curating the perfect mix of talent to orchestrating seamless event flow, All Terrain ensured every moment felt intentional—transforming Chicago itself into the main attraction.
Our creative approach
Driven by a deep understanding of Chicago’s cultural heartbeat. We designed and built assets that amplified the city’s most renowned landmarks and created activations that were not just memorable but shareable. Every element—from immersive experiences to interactive touchpoints—was crafted to drive engagement and encourage guests to capture, share, and reflect on the magic of Chicago. By combining local pride, bold design, and a deep sense of place, we ensured the event was both a celebration and a content-rich experience that would resonate long after the lights went down.
We amplified the city’s deep-rooted music legacy by programming multiple stages with local and global talent ranging from samba, rock, blues, gospel, and house. By weaving together these quintessential Chicago experiences, we created a multi-sensory spectacle that was bold, unforgettable, and undeniably Chicago.
We spotlighted Chicago’s most beloved culinary staples, bringing them front and center. From hot dogs and deep-dish pizza to cheesecake and beyond, each dish shared a unique story, offering guests an immersive taste of the city’s rich and diverse food culture—representing all 77 neighborhoods in every bite.
